The Nest: Release Date, Plot, and Updates!

Directed, written and produced by Sean Durkin, The Nest is a 2020 thriller movie. After the premiere of the movie at the Sundance Film Festival, it got solid reviews and ratings from the critics (83% on Rotten Tomatoes). The film follows the marital distress in the lives of a privileged couple, Allison and Rory, after they move to England from New York. Sean Durkin is back after 8 long years, his first feature Martha Marcy May Marlene debuted in 2011. This film is all set for it’s theatrical release in September 2020 and we have high expectations.

Release Date and Trailer:

The Nest premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 26, 2020. It was later on picked up by IFC Films for a theatrical release on September 18th, 2020.

What is it about?

The official synopsis of The Nest goes like “Rory, an ambitious entrepreneur and former commodities broker, who persuades his American wife, Allison, and their children to leave the comforts of suburban America and return to his native England during the 1980s. Sensing the opportunity, Rory rejoins his former firm and leases a centuries-old country manor, with grounds for Allison’s horses and plans to build a stable. Soon the promise of a lucrative new beginning starts to unravel, the couple has to face the unwelcome truths lying beneath the surface of their marriage.”

Set in a the English Manor House of the O’Haras, a gloomy setting, this marriage story might look like a family drama on the surface but has so many layers to offer to it’s viewers. The psychological toll, the intricacies, the“status anxiety” of the O’Haras will come to light as the story unravels.

Who is in it?

The cast members of The Nest are Jude Law will play Rory, Carrie Coon(The Leftovers) as Allison, Charlie Shotwell as Benjamin, Oona Roche as Sam, Adeel Akhtar as Steve, Anne Reid, Michael Culkin as Arthur Davis, Wendy Crewson, Tattiawna Jones as Coach, John Ross Harkin and Tobias Macey as Builders.
