The Northman: Plot and Casts!
Set at the turn of the tenth century in Iceland, it stars Alexander Skarsgård as Viking prince Amleth, who sets out on a mission of revenge after his father is murdered by his uncle. The Northman is an epic revenge thriller, that explores how far a Viking prince will go to seek justice for his murdered father.
What often separates good films from bad ones is attention to detail. The weapons in The Northman trailer appear to be historically accurate, right down to the triangular pommel of Fjolnir’s longsword. Some fighting maneuvers are right out of the sagas. For example, when Amleth catches a thrown spear and hurls it back at his enemies.
Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ethan Hawke, Björk, and Willem Dafoe appear in supporting roles.
The Northman: Release Date and Trailer!
The Northman is scheduled to be released on April 22, 2022, by Focus Features. However, if the trailer is anything to go by, then the film looks to be spectacular. Highlighting the raw violence of 10th-century Iceland when Viking warriors won the honor by blood and steel. Incredibly, much of The Northman looks to be historically accurate, including its berserk battles.
