The Offer: Release Date, Trailer and more!

Written by Michael Tolkin, The Offer is an upcoming biographical drama miniseries about the development and production of Francis Ford Coppola’s landmark gangster film The Godfather (1972).

The miniseries is scheduled to be released on April 28, 2022, with the first three episodes of the ten-episode miniseries available immediately and the rest debuting every week on Thursdays.

The Offer Plot and Cast

Not so much has been disclosed about the plot, but all there is that the series will be a biography of The Godfather making process. The miniseries are based on The Godfather, A 1972 film inspired by a novel of the same. Published by Mario Puzo, the novel is about a fictional Mafia family hailing in New York.

The mafia family is headed by Vito, also known as the Godfather, whose earlier life from childhood to adulthood is the main plot of the Godfather series. The Offer will detail the criteria they used in choosing the cast, the movie’s budget, the production cost, and maybe the equipment used.

Many changes have been made to the series casting as some of them dropped out, like Armie Hammer, the series protagonist, who had to be replaced by Miles Teller. The Divergent Series star will be playing Albert Ruddy alongside Mathew Goode as Robert Evans. Giovanni Ribisi portrays Joe Colombo, Colin Hanks as Barry, Dan Fogler as Francis Juno Temple as Betty, and Burn Gorman as Charles.

Other casts include Justin Chambers as Marlon, Patrick Gallo playing Maria, Josh Zuckerman acting as Peter Bart, Meredith Garretson, Nora Arnezeder, Paul McCrane, Anthony Skordi, Jake Cannavale, James Madison, and many others.

The Offer Release Date

The Offer will be available for streaming in the US on Paramount+ from April 28, 2022, with three episodes available immediately and the rest following weekly. Dates for release in other countries are not yet known.

Since it is a miniseries, it has not been renewed for another season. However, it might be announced if the first season is successful.
