The Office is an American docu-comedy sitcom TV series that depicts the everyday lives of the office employees in the Pennsylvania branch of the fictional company Dunder Miffin Paper Company. It aired on NBC from March 24, 2005, to May 16, 2013, having a total of 9 seasons.
The Office originally featured Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, and B. J. Novak as the main cast. The Office received mixed reviews in its first season.
The NBC comedy’s executive producer and showrunner Greg Daniels made the announcement on a conference call with reporters Tuesday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In an interview with EW, Daniels explained why the decision was made.
“This year feels like the last chance to … make an artistic ending for the show. This will be the last season of ‘The Office,’ and we’re planning a big exciting last season,” Daniels told EW. “All questions will be answered this year. We’re going to see who’s behind the documentary.”
The Reunion
Fans were thrilled when two of The Office’s main stars reunited over video call recently to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the show. They spoke about some of their favorite memories of the sitcom, as well as dropping a hint about the potential for a reunion.
However, there has been a recent video stating that the office cast members are set for another virtual coffee date along with the fans of the show who would like to contribute to the current Covid-19 condition with them.
