The Old Guard, The American superhero film released in 2020, directed by Gina Prince Bythewood and is written by Greg Rucka.
It is based on the comic book of Greg Rucka following the same name. The movie was released in 2020, July 10th, in the most popular streaming channel- Netflix. It has received many positive reviews, with a special focus on its Action sequences and as well as Theron’s performance.
Cast
Charlize Theron as Andy, KiKi Layne as Nile Freeman, who is a former US Marine who had served in Afghanistan, Matthias Schoenaerts as Bookere, who was once a French soldier who fought under Napoleon, Marwan Kenzari as Joe who is a Muslim warrior who had participated in the Crusades, as well as Nicky’s lover, Luca Marinelli as Nicky or Niccolò di Genova who used to be an Italian crusader. He and Joe used to be enemies in the beginning but became lovers after they discovered their immortality, Chiwetel Ejiofor as James Copley, Harry Melling playing as Steven Merrick, Van Veronica Ngo following the role of Quynh, Anamaria Marinca as Dr. Meta Kozak, Joey Ansah doing the role of Keane and many many more.
With the production starting all the way back in the year 2017.
The filming began in the middle of May, yeared 2019, and it took place in Morocco, the united kingdom, and England as well, plus kent was used as double.

The firm portrayed LGBTQ characters in the superhero genre in a very commendable way. Kevin Fallon of the daily beast said that this movie was the first one to feature queer characters and also mention their love.
The movie has received a rating of 6.53 out of 10, which is an average with the approvals being 81 percent out of a total of two hundred and twelve reviews. It is restricted by genre conventions but with a sophisticated touch to the amazing superhero genre.
There is a possibility for a sequel of the movie, expressed by Theron. but she said, when the right time comes, it will happen.
