The Old Man: Release Date, Upcoming Season, and More!

Benga The Old Man is an upcoming thriller action drama television series that will first premiere on Hulu. It is based on a novel of the same name by author Thomas Perry. Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine created the television show. Jeff Bridges, Warren Littlefield, Jon Watts, Dan Schotz, David Schiff, Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine serve as the executive producers for the show while The Littlefield Company and Touchstone Television serve as the production companies. Disney-ABC Domestic Television are signed on to distribute the film.

Perry previously received an Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America Society in 1983 for his first thriller novel The Butcher’s Boy. But his career was primed to be successful even before the release of his first novel: he graduated with a B.A. from Cornell University and a PhD in English Literature from the University of Rochester. He published The Old Man in 2017 to successful reviews.

The Old Man: Plot and Cast

Dan Chase just seems like a retired person in Vermont who lives with two dogs and keeps in touch with his grown up daughter through the phone. However normal Dan Chase seems on the surface, he secretly hides his past as a retired former intelligence officer.

He has multiple driver’s licenses, multiple bank accounts with savings all across the country, and some secretly hidden guns. Chase was sent to Libya to secretly assist a rebel army, but when the plan went wrong, he decided to act according to his own morals. This resulted in certain people wanting him dead and thus, all the secret identities. However, even after so many years, the ghosts of his past end up coming back.

Jeff Bridges plays Dan Chase while John Lithgow plays Harold Harper. Gbenga Akinnagbe plays Julian while Alia Shawkat plays Angela and Amy Brenneman plays Zoe.
