The Princess Switch: Plot and Cast
The story of the first movie was inspired by Mark Twain’s 1881 novel The Prince and The Pauper. Stacy deNovo, a baker from Chicago, and Lady Margaret Delacourt, the Duchess of Montenegro, are lookalikes. They come across each other when Stacy deNovo travels to Belgravia for a baking competition and runs into the Duchess.
Stacy runs her bakery with her best friend, Kevin, who enters their business into the competition. They travel to Belgravia with his daughter, Olivia. When Lady Margaret runs into Stacy, she is immediately struck with the idea of living the life of a civilian. She is about to be married to the Crown Prince of Belgravia, Edward, and offers to exchange places with Stacy for a day.
Stacy is initially reluctant to accept. However, Lady Margaret offers to pay for Olivia’s admission to a Belgravian ballet program, which instantly seals the deal. The two face a lot of difficulties while playing each other, but ultimately succeed in finding their own happiness.
Vanessa Hudgens plays Lady Margaret as well as Stacy. Sam Palladio plays Prince Edward while Nick Sagar plays Kevin Richards. Finally, Alexa Adeosun plays Olivia Richards.
