Created by Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Schore, and Roshan Sethi, The Resident is an American medical drama television series. The show is based on the book Unaccountable by Marty Makary. The executive producers of the show include Amy Holden Jones Antoine Fuqua, Phillip Noyce, Oly Obst, David Boorstein, and Todd Harthan.

The show premiered on January 21, 2018, on Fox. Followed by, In May 2021, the series was renewed for a fifth season, which premiered on September 21, 2021. In May 2022, the series was renewed for a sixth season, which is scheduled to premiere soon.

The Resident Plot and Cast

Although the plot details for The Resident Season 6 have not been revealed, it will continue from where the fifth season ended. In the previous season, Nic died and Conrad has grown as a father over the years. Conrad has not made any definite moves with Cade but that should change for now.

We also lost Carol but AJ decided to donate his sperm to the Padma and become the father of twins. Devon and Leela ended things, got back together, and Devon has a job offer to move to Baltimore. Cade’s father Ian has pancreatic cancer that has been removed by Leela. Kit and Randolph become engaged after finding out that Randolph has MS. Billie decides that she is in love with Conrad and Conrad decided it is time to love again.

Coming to the cast, we can expect to see Matt Czuchry, Manish Dayal, Bruce Greenwood, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Glenn Morshower, Jane Leeves, and Jessica Lucas in the lead roles.

The Resident Season 6 Release Date

The latest season of The Resident premiered in September 2021 and it was renewed for a sixth season in May 2022. Season 6 is now scheduled to premiere on September 20, 2022.

The number of episodes for the upcoming season is not confirmed as it has been different in the first five seasons. The series is produced by Fuqua Films, 3 Arts Entertainment, Nickels Productions, Up Island Films, and 20th Television.
