Created by Danny McBride, The Righteous Gemstones is an American dark comedy television series. It aired first on August 18, 2019, on HBO. McBride is also the executive producer alongside Jody Hill, David Gordon Green, John Carcieri, Jeff Fradley, and Brandon James, and it is produced by Rough House Pictures.

On September 9, 2019, the series was renewed for a second season which premiered on January 9, 2022. On January 25, 2022, HBO renewed the series for a third season. It has received positive reviews from critics and audiences and currently holds an approval rating of 75% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Righteous Gemstones Season 3 Plot and Cast

At the end of the second season, we have seen that Eli gives his blessings as well as financial support to Jesse to pursue the Landing of Zion. After that, Eli confesses the truth about Marsh St. to his children, and later, tells them his plans to confront Junior to end the conflict.

Despite the protests of the Children, Eli carries out his plan, and after learning the truth, Junior forgives Eli, but later, tells him that he was not behind the Cycle Ninjas. On that night, the Cycle Ninjas escape from jail. Let’s see what happens next.

Coming to the cast, there is no official confirmation on who will be back in the third season, but we could expect the original members to reprise their roles. This includes Danny McBride as Jesse Gemstone, John Goodman as Dr. Eli Gemstone, Adam DeVine as Kelvin Gemstone, Edi Patterson as Judy Gemstone, and Tony Cavalero as Keefe Chambers.

There is a possibility that we might get to see Cassidy Freeman as Amber Gemstone, Skyler Gisondo as Gideon Gemstone, Walton Goggins as “Baby” Billy Freeman, Gregory Alan Williams as Martin Imari, and Tim Baltz as Benjamin Jason “BJ” Barnes.

The Righteous Gemstones was renewed for a third season in January 2022. Considering that, Season 3 should release by the end of 2022 or mid-2023.

The new season should consist of nine episodes like the first two seasons. However, the makers are yet to provide an official confirmation on the same.
