Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds come together for new action-packed comedy Netflix original film. Writer-director Rawson Marshal Thurber reunites with Johnson for a third project after Central Intelligence and Skyscraper.
Cast and Plot
The film has a star-studded cast. Dwayne Johnson will feature as an Interpol Agent, Ryan Reynolds as a con man, and Wonder Woman fame Gal Gadot as an art-thief. Johnson has worked with Gadot in Fast and Furious series and with Reynolds in the Fast and Furious spin-off movie Hobbs and Shaw. Red Notice will also include Canadian actor and comedian Chris Diamantopoulos, who has previously starred in The Three Stooges and HBO show Silicon Valley. The Interpol agent (Johnson) who is a master tracker teams up with the world’s most infamous con man (Reynolds) to catch the world’s most notorious art thief (Gadot).
Like numerous other on-going projects, Red Notice had to halt production in March due to the pandemic crisis. Recent updates about the movie were received when Ryan Reynolds posted photos of him on the sets of Red Notice with Johnson while giving him birthday wishes in an Instagram post. The post caption read: “Today is TheRock’s birthday. There’ll be a lot of good wishes for him. He deserves it. This year, we fulfilled a lifelong dream: shooting exactly half a film called RED NOTICE before being promptly shut down. Had we not spent 90 percent of our time laughing, we might have finished it in time. Happy Birthday, Bubba.“
Evidently, Red Notice is an ongoing effort of Netflix to compete against the theatrical movie releases. With the pandemic crisis, the streaming platform is on the lead with more than 15 million subscribers worldwide. Its recent release of Extraction on 24th April became the biggest film premiere on an online streaming platform and in 2020. The action-thriller Extraction starred Thor fame, Chris Hemsworth. Netflix is expecting upcoming movies like Red Notice to follow Extraction’s suit.
With the star cast that it has, Red Notice is sure to make a big launch whenever it will be out.
