Created by Alexi Hawley, The Rookie is a police procedural crime drama series, produced for ABC. Hawley is the executive producer alongside Nathan Fillion, Mark Gordon, Nicholas Pepper, Michelle Chapman, Jon Steinberg, Liz Friedlander and William Norcross.
The first season of the show premiered on October 16, 2018 followed by the second on September 29, 2019. The third season was released on January 3, 2021 and the fourth premiered on September 26, 2021. The show has received positive reviews from critics and it has been already renewed for a fifth season.

The Rookie Plot and Cast
In the previous season of The Rookie, we got to see that the police cornered Reynolds at the USS Iowa Museum and also shoots him. Bradford then makes a decision to join her sister but also says no to visit her father, and later endorses Nolan for a union representative.
Meanwhile, Lopez creates a RICO case against Stone but finds that Evers told Grey as well as they plan to use Evers as an informant. The upcoming season will pick up from this spot and it remains to be seen what happens next.
Now coming to the cast, we should get to see Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Melissa O’Neil, Eric Winter, Mekia Cox and Shawn Ashmore in the lead roles. Further additions to the lead and recurring cast are expected to be announced soon.
The Rookie Season 5 Release Date
The fourth season of The Rookie premiered on September 2021. Considering that, the fifth season should premiere sometime towards the end of 2022 or the first half of 2023.
The number of episodes for the next season is yet to be confirmed by the makers. Since it has been different in every season, it should continue in this season.
