The Search: True Story Is More Scary And Horrifying Than The Netflix Series!

Search is a Mexican Spanish mini-series on Netflix. The fact that this series is based on a true story is super horrifying! The Search stars Dario Yazbek, Diana Bovio, and Regina Blandon. The story is about the real-life event of a four-year-old girl, Paulette Gebara Farah. She was mysteriously found dead in March 2010 in Mexico City. The series received negative criticism for its light comedy tone and poor performance of Dario Yazbek as the lead actor.

What Is The True Story Behind ‘The Search’?

Paulette was born to Mauricio Gebara and Lizette Farah. She had physical impairments and a language disorder and had 2 nannies to care for her- Ericka and Martha Casimiro. The family’s lives took a turn for the worse on the night of March 21, 2010. Lizette said that she put her daughter to bed as usual. But the next morning, when Ericka went to wake her up, Paulette was nowhere to be seen. But there was no evidence for her disappearance, no signs of forced entry, struggle, nothing. This came as a huge puzzle for the authorities and a massive search began for her.

On March 31, nine days later they found Paulette’s body in her bedroom. She was wrapped in sheets between the mattress at the foot of her bed. They found the body because of a smell. An autopsy report revealed that she had died due to ‘asphyxiation that obstructed the respiratory airways and compressed the abdominal thorax’.

This, by far has to be the most shocking and horrifying incident ever. So many people entered her bedroom, sniff dogs, investigators, her parents, the media. Yet nobody ever found her body in those 9 days. This is when Paulette’s parents came under the radar. Her parents started blaming each other for death. Attorney General Bazbaz believed that Mrs. Farah was responsible for Paulette’s death but there was not enough evidence to arrest her.

Lizette Farah was given a restraining order against her family later on. Some specialists say that Farah suffered from a personality disorder and she might have killed her daughter. But Farah has always maintained that she had nothing to do with Paulette’s death. Even now, nobody knows what happened that night to Paulette.
