Upcoming American drama thriller movie The Secrets We Keep is set to release on September 16, 2020, followed by a video on demand on October 16, 2020, by Bleecker Street. The film had been directed by Yuval Adler, from a screenplay by Adler and Ryan Covington. It had been produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Stuart Ford, Erik Howsam, Adam Riback, and Greg Shapiro, under their Di Bonaventura Pictures, AGC Studios, and Echo Lake Entertainment banners, respectively. The production of The Secrets We Keep started back in 2019. If the situation permits, then the film might hit the theatres, or will just take the help of the OTT platforms.
The official description goes like this, “In post-WWII America, a woman, rebuilding her life in the suburbs with her husband, kidnaps her neighbor and seeks vengeance for the heinous war crimes she believes he committed against her.” Protagonist Maja after encountering an eerily familiar figure takes things into her own hands. She makes the suspicious person go through a series of memories and events that will change her whole perception of the truth. The Secrets We Keep stars, Noomi Rapace, as Maja, Joel Kinnaman, Chris Messina as Lewis, and Amy Seimetz. Rapace shared a few words about her character and her experience throughout the production of the film,
“When I first read the script, something just hit me and stayed in my heart about Maja’s fight for her own happiness and for healing. She just stayed with me. I couldn’t forget about her, I couldn’t put her away. She took a grip on my soul. She is inspiring yet complex. She’s not just a good, likable character; she’s so layered.”
