The Serpent Queen Season 2: Release Date, Trailer, and more!

Created by Justin Haythe, The Serpent Queen is an American period drama television series. The series is all about the life of Catherine de’ Medici, the 16th-century Queen of France, as portrayed by actress Samantha Morton.

It is based on the 2004 nonfiction book Catherine de Medici: Renaissance Queen of France by Leonie Frieda. The series debuted on September 11, 2022, on Starz and a second season has been already confirmed by the producers.

So, when will be the second season released? What is the plot? Who will come back to reprise their roles in the upcoming season?

The Serpent Queen Season 2 Release Date

On October 27, 2022, Starz renewed the series for a second season but the official release date is yet to be disclosed. The series first premiered on September 11, 2022, and received a good response from critics.

The first season of the series has 8 episodes and it is expected that the upcoming season will also have the same number of episodes but an official announcement is yet to be confirmed. The Serpent Queen is produced by 3 Arts Entertainment and Lionsgate Television.

The Serpent Queen Plot and Cast

The show is about Catherine de’ Medici who gets married at the age of 14 and people expect her to bring a fortune in the form of dowry and bring heirs. Although she faces a few challenges, she manages to rule for 30 years in France as a queen.

Now coming to the cast which includes Samantha Morton as Catherine de’ Medici, Amrita Acharia as Aabis, Enzo Cilenti as Cosimo Ruggeri, Kiruna Stamell as Mathilde, Ray Panthaki as Charles, Cardinal de Guise, Raza Jaffrey as Francois, Duc de Guise, Barry Atsma as Montmorency, Sennia Nanua as Rahima, and more.
