The Simpsons is an animated sitcom on Fox, and probably the greatest animated sitcom of all time. The animated series is created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The animated series was first conceptualized in the form of animated shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show in 1987. After three seasons on the show, the shorts were developed into a half-hour prime time show on Fox. The Simpsons became the first series on Fox to land in the Top 30 ratings in a season, in its debut season in 1989-90.

Since its debut in 1989, The Simpsons has won a plethora of television awards. These awards include 34 Primetime Emmy Awards, 34 Annie Awards, and 2 Peabody Awards. The Simpsons family were awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in January, 2000. In 1999, Time named The Simpsons as 20th century’s best television series. It is the longest-running American sitcom, and also the longest-running American scripted primetime television series.

The Simpsons revolves around the Simpson family, which includes Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. The series is a satirical take on the American society and the working-class life. The series is based in the fictional town of Springfield. 684 episodes of The Simpsons have aired so far. The 700th episode of The Simpsons will air during the 32nd season.

Cast of The Simpsons Season 32

All regular voice actors on The Simpsons will be back for season 32. This includes Dan Castellaneta as Homer Simpson, Grampa Simpson, Krusty the Clown, Groundskeeper Willie, Mayor Quimby, Barney Grumble and other adult male characters; Julie Kavner as Marge Simpson, Patty and Selma Bouvier; Nancy Cartwright as Bart Simpson, Nelson Muntz, Ralph Wiggum; Yeardley Smith as Lisa Simpson; Hank Azaria as Moe Szyslak, Chief Wiggum, Professor Frink, Carl Carlson; and Harry Shearer as Mr. Burns, Mr. Smithers, Principal Skinner, Ned Flanders, Reverend Lovejoy and Dr. Hibbert.

Hank Azaria used to voice the character of Apu Nahasapeemapetilon and Carl Carlson until season 31. He announced in January 2020 that he will not voice the character of Carl Carlson in the upcoming season. This was followed by a number of celebrities on other sitcoms stepping down as voice actors behind characters of colour. From season 32, Alex Désert will be the voice of the character Carl Carlson.

Guest stars on season 32 of The Simpsons include David Harbour, Olivia Colman, Ben Platt, Hannibal Buress and Michael Palin.

Premiere date of The Simpsons Season 32

The Simpsons was renewed for seasons 31 and 32 in February 2019. The 31st season premiered on September 29, 2019 and concluded on May 17, 2020. Season 31 had an a demo rating of 0.94 in the 18-49 category, and an average of 2.58 million viewers across its 22 episode run. The Simpsons was number eight on Fox’s list of scripted shows in 2019-20 in terms of viewership.

Season 32 of The Simpsons is set to premiere on September 27, 2020, as a part of Fox’s Animation Domination Block on Sundays.
