Based on The Simpsons shorts by Matt Groening, the series is set in the fictional town of Springfield and parodies American culture and society, television, and the human condition.

The first episode aired on ABC on September 15, 1989. In the history of American television, it is the longest-running show, animation series, or scripted primetime series ever, both in terms of seasons and number of episodes. On March 3, 2021, the series was announced to have been renewed for seasons 33 and 34, which were later confirmed to have 22 episodes each, increasing the episode count from 706 to 750.

The Simpsons season 34 is scheduled to premiere on Sunday 25th September 2022 in line with the release trend of the series. Since its debut on December 17, 1989, 728 episodes of the show have been broadcast. It is the longest-running American animated series, a longest-running American sitcom, and the longest-running American scripted primetime television series, both in terms of seasons and number of episodes.

There are more than 700 episodes of The Simpsons available on various streaming platforms. The number of episodes for the new season is not confirmed since it has been different since the debut of Season 1.

The Simpsons Plot and Cast

The makers have not revealed a lot of details about the plot for the upcoming season. However, it will continue from where the previous season ended.

The Simpsons is a show that is about a family. It’s not usually like an hour-long drama. But this summer, there was a Comic-Con@Home panel where people could talk about it. The executive producer and frequent co-showrunner Matt Selman revealed that the next episode of the season would be a musical with original songs. It has been called “The Star of Backstage” or “The Star of the Backstage,” and it is called “No Day But Yesterday.”

The Simpsons have six prominent or constant cast members including Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria, and Harry Shearer. We can expect to see the same characters in the upcoming season.
