The top games to play on Android in 2022

Smartphones are being used by more people than ever before. And like the iPhone, Androids have come out as some of the top devices for people to work, socialise, enjoy entertainment and more.

Data shows that there are more than 3 billion Android users across an incredible 190 countries. And in 2020, 129.1 million people were using Android smartphones – a figure that is growing all the time.

Why are Androids so popular? Well one big reason is that they’re ideal for playing games. If you’re an Android owner getting into gaming, or a bit of a seasoned player, here are the top games on Android you need to check out in 2022.

Momentum Valley

Released back in 2014, Momentum Valley is an indie puzzle game that had some incredible reviews — and won several awards — in the year of its launch. In this game, the player takes Princess Ida through puzzles that include optical illusions and impossible objects and features some truly incredible artwork.

The original game in the series features ten levels with a unique central mechanic. While the game was released almost ten years ago, it still stands the test of time as an enjoyable and beautiful experience. Its sequel, Momentum Valley 2 was released for Android in 2017 and is also worth downloading for the perfect game while on the go.

Pokemon Go

Pokemon Go brought AR phone gaming to the mainstream back in 2016 and remains a popular title to date. As a Pokemon Trainer, explore your world and catch your favourite Pokemon as you aim to battle online with other Trainers.

This open-world experience continues to be a huge hit for Android users and has generated over $6 billion in player spending for its makers, Niantic since its release. If you’ve not yet downloaded it, now’s the time. It also gets bonus points for getting players moving and exploring their cities and hometowns in a completely new way!

Among Us

Among Us is a really fun game that’s full of action and intrigue. Published by American game company Innersloth, this online multiplayer social deduction experience is completely free to download.

If you enjoy playing games with others, this might be the right one for you. Play with up to 15 people, with options to customise how you want to play. You can change the tasks, roles, number of imposters, your crewmates’ colour and so much more.

There’s loads of customisations options that get added in all the time, which is probably why this game remains entertaining to players since its release back in 2018.

Crossy Road

Crossy Road is something of a viral hit and is played by over 200 million players around the world. An arcade game for Android as an 8-bit endless runner, its concept is based on the philosophical question we all know: Why did the chicken cross the road?

As an endless runner it means endless amounts of fun. This one is ideal if you’re bored on a commute or just want something quick that doesn’t require too much thinking!

Megaway Slots

You no longer need to head to a land-based casino to enjoy your favourite slot game. The internet boom of the 1990s took the world of casinos by storm – with some of the best casino games, including slots, available to play online from wherever you happen to be. All you need is a smartphone device like an Android!

Some of the best slots out there have to be the slots from Megaways Casino. With a huge range of titles, there’s something out there for everyone. Slot games don’t require any skill or strategy – which makes them easy and fun to play. With a chance of winning real money, too!

M.Duck

M.Duck is a fun game that’s received some excellent reviews so far on Google Play. In this game you have to help Magic Duck battle his way to the secret tower – while discovering relics and secrets along the way. This single-player game was developed by New York-based Protractor Games.

And at $1.99 to download, it’s an affordable and quirky little game that’s a great one to add to your collection!

Table Top Racing: World Tour

For those who love a racing and car game, Table Top Racing: World Tour is a must-have. The game features 16 miniaturised racing cars to choose from, with over 30 race tracks and 180 bids. That means loads of gameplay time and different options available with something that’s the right fit for everyone.

In this game you can even play online and battle against other players around the world. At $4.99 it’s not the cheapest game available but updates are consistent and with a huge range of race tracks there’s hours and hours of gaming that can be done, without ever getting bored of it!
