The Tourist Season 2: Release Date, Cast and more!

Written by Harry Williams and Jack Williams, The Tourist is a thriller drama series. Henry and Jack are also the executive producers alongside Christopher Aird, Andrew Benson, Tommy Bulfin and Chris Sweeney.

The first season of the series premiered on January 1, 2022 and received positive reviews from critics and audiences. It currently holds an approval rating of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. Considering the positive response, the makers have renewed the series for a second season.

The Tourist Plot and Cast

Towards the end of The Tourist Season 1, we saw that Elliot found out that he was a drug trafficker before losing his memory and this sends him into a spiral in which he drinks a bottle of vodka and swallows some pills in an attempt to end his life.

Helen had time to think who he is and is advised by a friend to accept him for who he is now, As Elliot lies dying, she messages him an emoji of a burrito, which was previously said to be Elliot’s happy place. As Elliot reads the message, he smiles before the credits roll. The new season would allow the character of Elliot to survive and try and make peace with what he has done in his past in some way.

Coming to the cast, the leads of Season 1 should come back to play the lead roles. This includes Jamie Dornan, Danielle Mcdonald, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Olafur Darri Olafsson, Alex Dimitriades, and Genevieve Lemon. There is a chance that Danny Adcock, Damon Herriman, Alex Andreas, Maria Mercedes, Michael Ibbotson, Kamil Ellis and The Umbilical Brothers might return.

The Tourist Season 2 Release Date

The first season of The Tourist premiered on January 2022 and it was renewed for a second season in March 2022. Considering that, the second season should premiere sometime in 2023.

The upcoming season is expected to have six episodes like the first season, although an official confirmation is awaited. The series is distributed by All3Media and it will air on BBC One and Stan.
