The Undoing: Release Date, Plot and Others!

The trailer of the upcoming American drama miniseries, The Undoing, holds so much mystery within just a minute. Just a few actions are going on, and one tries to figure out what is going to happen, but you know nothing since no-one speaks. And that’s what the motto of the movie is- actions speak louder than words. HBO’s miniseries has been adopted from the 2014 novel You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz and set to premiere on HBO on October 25, 2020. The show has filmed in New York City and Kingston, New York. The Undoing has been directed by Susanne Bier and produced by Blossom Films, Made Up Stories, and David E. Kelley Productions.

The description of The Undoing on IMDb goes like this, “Life for a successful therapist in New York begins to unravel on the eve of publishing her first book.” The story revolves around Grace Fraser, who is basically living the life of her dreams. But the glass of happiness shatters suddenly with a debacle, a missing husband, and secrets coming on the surface. Now the challenge for Grace is to build up her empire all over again from the scratch, but the question is at what cost?

The Undoing stars Nicole Kidman (Grace Fraser), Hugh Grant (Mike Fraser), Édgar Ramírez (Detective Joe Mendoza), Noah Jupe (Henry Fraser), Lily Rabe (Sylvia Steineitz), Noma Dumezweni (Haley Fitzgerald), Sofie Gråbøl (Catherine Stamper), Matilda De Angelis (Elena Alves), Ismael Cruz Córdova (Fernando Alves), Nadine Marshall (Franklin Reinhardt), Michael Devine (Detective Paul O’Rourke) and Donald Sutherland (Franklin Renner). Kidman after hearing the story commented,

“As much as it’s a classic thriller with all these cliffhangers, there are really complex themes, particularly about choosing to see what you want to see and what we would choose to believe.”

Director Bier also said,

“You aren’t quite sure who and how to trust any of them, which is almost like in real life. We’ve all bumped into people where we had that sense of that attraction to something which is slightly intangible and slightly inaccessible but still utterly fascinating.”
