Created by Dago Garcia, and starring Antonio Sanint, Maria Cecilia Sanchez, Julián Cerati, Mariana Gómez, and Júlio César Herrera, “The Unremarkable Juanquini (Original name: Chichipatos)” is a Columbian comedy streaming television series that revolves around an inept magician who pulls off the trick of his life: accidentally disappearing a wanted criminal during a police raid. Now he’s going to pay for that and broadcast first time on May 15, 2020.
The latest season premiered on Friday, April 30, 2021, on Netflix.
The Morales and the Orduz families are in a sticky situation under the same roof. But Captain González is on to them, no matter where they hide.
‘The Unremarkable Juanquini’ centers around an inept magician. Juanquini is so clumsy that he is unable to even impress kids who are usually more susceptible to simple tricks. Moreover, he is the patriarch of a family that struggles to make ends meet. So, one day, he pulls off the trick of a lifetime. He magically disappears a most-wanted drug lord (Nato) during one of his performances on-stage. And this puts the magician in a tight spot since he is unable to make the criminal reappear. The police have questions and they demand answers.
The entirety of the plot revolves around how Juanquini tries to convince everyone that he has no idea about the crook’s whereabouts. After a chain of failed attempts, the police decide to send him to the US since they are convinced about his involvement in Nato’s escape. But Juanquini is rescued by Nato. In the end, it is revealed that our protagonist is, in fact, a great mage — maybe even Merlin’s heir. Season 2, if it happens, is expected to follow the magician as he journeys more into his past to uncover his true heritage.
