The Walking Dead is a post-apocalyptic horror television and it is based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The series has an ensemble cast playing the role of survivors of a zombie apocalypse and trying to stay alive under constant threat from zombies also known as ‘walkers’. The lead character, Rick Grames was portrayed by Andrew Lincoln and he left the series during the ninth season. The first season of the series premiered on 31st October 2010 followed by the tenth season on 6th October 2019.
The series has been renewed for the eleventh and final season. The show is produced by AMC Studios and filming mostly took place at the large outdoor spaces of Riverwood Studios near Senoia, Georgia. The series has been able to attract 18 to 49-year-old viewers from the third season, although, viewership has decreased a lot in the next seasons. The series has received positive feedback from critics and now fans are eagerly waiting for the eleventh and final season.

There is good news for all the fans of ‘The Walking Dead’ that filming has already commenced for the final season. The latest update says that the eleventh season will start airing in summer 2021 and end in 2022. Compared to the previous seasons that had 16 episodes each, this season will have 24 episodes.
