Thieves of the Wood: Release Date, Trailer and Plot!

Netflix recently released a new show called Thieves of the Wood! This is a historical drama show. The show is actually based on a book called  De bende van Jan de Lichte by Louis Paul Boon. The story follows real-life events of the 18th century. The location of the book and the show are based in Belgium.

The Plot of the show:

The story unravels the life of an outlaw leader. Since it is based in Belgium it covers the incidents that took place in the history of Belgium. The show wonderfully covers the ethnicity of the eastern European country. The accuracy of the costumes, the dialogues and the sets have been appreciated. The viewers of this show were highly impressed with the details covered in the show. As it is based on the novel the show’s creators had to put in a lot of effort. They have tried to cover as much as they could in the show.

The very essence of history has been covered. The show has been a recipient of tons of appreciation. The viewers of the show have mostly been historical-drama lovers. Even the fans of the book enjoyed the series.

Release Date and Trailer for the show:

The show was actually created for VTM network. This is a Belgium TV network. The show released in Belgium around late 2018. However, the series did great for itself. As it did great, Netflix bought rights to stream it. Netflix aired the show for international streaming in January 2020.

The show has a total of 10 episodes. Each episode has a run time of 50 minutes. Netflix is releasing the episodes on a weekly basis in some countries. And has already released episodes in a bulk in other countries.

Since this show is based on a novel, we do not know if there will be a season two! The shooting of season one took place in 2016 and winter of 2017. Plus, the people at VTM and Netflix haven’t confirmed the possibility of a season two. Below attached is the trailer for season 1:
