This Fool: Release Date, Plot, Cast and more!

The stand-up comic from the podcast series Who’s This Now?, Chris Estrada is coming with a comedy series, namely, This Fool. The series has been inspired by the comedian’s own life, his stand-ups, and things alike. In the words of Chris, studies have shown that the life expectancy of a “punk a– bitch” Is 76 years, whereas that of a gangster is 24.

This Fool has been penned by Estrada who is also the executive producer of the show. Along with him, there is Pat Bishop, Matt Ingebretson, Jake Weisman, Fred Armisen, and Jonathan Goff. Keep reading to know more about This Fool.

This Fool: Plot and Cast

This Fool weaves a story that revolves around the life of Julio Lopez, a working-class, middle-aged man of 30 years who lives at his house with his mother and abuela. Julio has a girlfriend since high school, but their relationship is, well, complicated. The on-and-off phase of them being a couple never seems to end, although she totally has the right to ‘borrow’ Julio’s car as per her will and convenience.  A resident of South Central Los Angeles, Julio works at a nonprofit rehab for gang members, namely, Hugs not Thugs, and persistently avoids his problems by framing a variety of excuses. At Hugs not Thugs, Julio bumps into Luis, an older cousin of his who happens to be an ex-member of a gang. Luis just got himself out of the prison after 8 years and is currently moving in with Julio and his family.

The cast of This Fool includes the hilarious Chris Estrada as Julio Lopez, Frankie Quiñones as Luis, Laura Patalano as Esperanza, Michelle Ortiz as Maggie, Julia Vera as Maria, and Michael Imperioli as Minister Leonard Payne.

This Fool: Release Date

This Fool is all set for its release on Hulu on August 12, 2022. The show is premiering its first season with ten episodes. Each episode will approximately be half-hour long.
