A project that involves Tom Cruise as the main lead, is in the works. The filming will be taking place in outer space. Cruise is teaming up with Elon Musk’s Space X and NASA for the movie.
What do we know about Tom Cruise’s collaboration with Space X and NASA?
As we all know, Tom Cruise is well know for his action and risky roles. Not just that, at the age of 57, he still manages to do the dangerous stunts by himself. Now, Cruise is to become the first actor to do a movie in outer space, if the filming will successfully be completed. Elon Musk company Space X and NASA will support him since he is doing the movie in outer space.
A few days back even Nasa has confirmed the existence of the project. Jim Bridenstine Nasa administrator said: ‘Nasa is delighted to work with Tom Cruise on a movie aboard the Space Station!’; further confirming the aforementioned statement.
Who will direct the space movie?
According to Deadline, Doug Liman has been appointed to direct the movie in outer space. However, it is not the first time that Liman is collaborating with Tom Cruise. Prior to this, they had worked on projects like American Made and Edge of Tomorrow. Since the old collaborators are coming up for this new project, it’s going to be even more intriguing.
The director has already started to work on it as he is penning the first draft of the screenplay. Alongside Tom Cruise, he is also producing the movie. Also, a new film about Liman is coming up. The name is Chaos Walking. He is operating on the post-production of that movie.
What else do we know about Space Movie?
The project is entirely new as it was verified earlier. It doesn’t have any connection with Cruise’s Mission Impossible 7. The star is just perfect for the roles that involve huge risks. Also, earlier Cruise actually had played the role of an astronaut in Oblivion. He had risked his life on multiple occasions for doing many dangerous stunts, in his Mission Impossible movies.
That’s all we know that’s worth sharing. For more, stay tuned.
