Release Date and more updates
Top Gun: Maverick was initially slated for a June2020 release, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Paramount Pictures in April decided to push the release of the film from June to December.
I know many of you have waited 34 years. Unfortunately, it will be a little longer. Top Gun: Maverick will fly this December. Stay safe, everyone.
However, as things still haven’t improved and cases continue to rise, it became highly unlikely for the film to make it to theatres on its rescheduled release in December 2020. Theatres are still closed and large gatherings still unsafe due to the fear of the virus. Wanting the people to have a cinematic theatrical Top Gun: Maverick experience, Paramount has further delayed the release to July 2, 2021, with the hope that the pandemic will be long gone by that time. For fans of the franchise, it will be another year’s wait before they finally get to see this great film.
