TrackMania is for Windows, PS4, and Xbox One racing games, developed by Nadeo, and Nintendo DS and Wii, published by Firebrand Games.
TrackMania games usually feature a time trial format, with prizes rewarded in single-player mode for smashing fixed times, as well as the option to upload online ranking times. At any point, players can opt to respawn if they land upside down, miss the field, or get off to a bad start.
Multiplayer races function as simultaneous time trials; at the same time, players’ vehicles are accessible on the same course, but cannot communicate physically with each other.
Release Date
A Trackmania Nations reboot was revealed on February 29, 2020. It was planned to be released on May 5, 2020, but was released for Windows on July 1, 2020, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Trackmania® is available now on Epic and Uplay! Welcome to the club!
The new release, a reboot of TrackMania Nations from 2006 simply called Trackmania, in many respects sounds like a return to the genre.
Although there’s lots of competition in Trackmania, variants on time trials have always been the main attraction. If you’re playing online alone or against someone, you’re struggling just against your skills.
This can make many of Trackmania’s modes sound boring, be it their Time Attack, Chase’s team multiplayer, or the standard circuit-based Run. Yet this desire to master a track is more than incentive enough to keep coming here.
The technically complex time trials at Trackmania in 2020 are as stressful and rewarding as they were in 2006. This new entry’s initial content collection is strong, and a wealth of exciting custom tracks are theoretically only one click away.
The fact that you will have to rebuy this iteration of Trackmania poses some real questions about its durability. But at least for now, it provides a well-modernized twist on a fun, exciting gaming game that tossed out the rulebook years ago.
