Created by Joseph Kay, Transplant is a medical drama television series, produced for NBC. Kay is also the executive producer alongside Jocelyn Deschenes, Bruno Dube, Randy Lennox, Virginia Rankin, Jeremy Spry and Tara Woodbury.

The first season premiered on CTV on February 26, 2020 followed by the second on January 2, 2022 on CTV and then on March 6 on NBC. It has received positive reviews from critics and has been currently rated 7.9/10 on IMDb. The show has been renewed for a third season, scheduled to premiere soon.

Transplant Plot and Cast

The new season is expected to continue from where Season 2 ended. However, the makers have not yet revealed much about the plot for the new season.

The show’s basic premise follows Dr. Bashir “Bash” Hamed, a Syrian Civil War refugee and a newest resident at York Memorial Hospital, as he navigates through numerous obstacles to resume a career in the high stakes world of emergency medicine.

The show has been primarily shot in Montreal with some limited location shooting in Toronto for establishing shots and other scenes which need a clear Toronto geographic marker.

Coming to the cast, we should get to see Hamza Haq, Laurence Leboeuf, John Hanna, Ayisha Issa, Jim Watson, Sirena Gulamgaus, Torri Higginson, Grace Lynn Kung, Sugith Varughese, Linda E. Smith and Kenny Wong in the lead roles. Further additions are expected to be announced soon.

Transplant Season 3 Release Date

The second season of Transplant premiered on January 2, 2022 and it was renewed for a third season the following that. Considering that, Season 3 should premiere sometime in 2023.

The new season is expected to consist of 13 episodes, although it is yet to be confirmed by the makers. Any other changes might be announced in the next few months.
