Truth Be Told is an American drama series produced for Apple TV+. The series has been created by Nichelle Tramble Spellman who is also the executive producer and writer of the show. It is based on the novel “Are You Sleeping” written by Kathleen Barber. The first season of the show premiered on 6th December 2019 and its soundtrack has been composed by John Paesano. The series was renewed for a second season on 5th March 2020 and a featurette of the series was also released on 26th November 2019. The first season had 8 episodes.

On the other hand, the show has not been well received by the critics. It has an approval rating of 32% on Rotten Tomatoes but it has been a recipient of NAACP Image Awards 2020 where Nichelle Tramble Spellman won in the category of NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Writing in a Dramatic Series and Octavia Spencer was nominated in the category of Outstanding Actress in a Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special.

Release Date of Truth Be Told Season 2

The first season of Truth Be Told premiered on 6th December 2019 and concluded on 10th January 2020. Season 1 had 8 episodes with a runtime of 45 minutes each. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the second season. Although the release date of Season 2 has not been confirmed yet, filming of the second season has already started on 26th October 2020. So, we can expect Truth Be Told Season 2 sometime in 2021.

The lead role of Poppy Parnell in Truth Be Told is being played by Octavia Spencer who is an investigative reporter with true-crime podcast. Apart from her, the other roles are being played by Michael Beach, Ron Cephas Jones, Tracie Thoms, Haneefah Wood, Mekhi Phifer, Aaron Paul, Elizabeth Perkins, Lizzly Caplan, Annabella Sciorria and Hunter Doohan.
