Written, created, and Executive produced by Andy Wolton, “Trying” is a British comedy television series that follows Nikki and Jason, a couple who really want to become parents but struggle with conceiving a child. In order to have the baby, they decide to adopt, only to face a whole list of new challenges, the first season of which broadcasted on May 1, 2020, on Apple TV+.

Nikki and Jason have been approved to adopt but as series two begins they are finding the matching process a challenge. How do you choose your child from an online photo? Eccentric social worker Penny thinks she has some inside info that could get them ahead. Meanwhile, newly separated Erica and Freddy fall out at the christening of their son and it’s left to Nikki and Jason to mediate.

But when Nikki meets a little girl named Princess, she knows the girl is meant to be her daughter. As would be expected, obstacles surface at every stage, but their friends and family are there to help (and sometimes unintentionally hinder) their efforts.
