Created by Lisa Hanawalt, Tuca & Bertie is an adult animated sitcom made for Netflix. It was described as one of the best shows of 2019 by various publications.

The first season of the series premiered on May 3, 2019 and received positive reviews from critics. Even though it was canceled initially, Adult Swim announced a second season, which premiered on June 13, 2021. The show was renewed for a third season in the following month and it is scheduled to release soon.

Tuca & Bertie Plot and Cast

Tuca is an arrogant and carefree toucan and Bertie is a nervous and wondering songbird. Both of them live in the same apartment complex.

In the previous season, we got to see some unbalance created between the main character’s personal and professional lives. The plot eventually progresses. The upcoming season is expected to reveal Tuca’s growing feelings for his ex-girlfriend.

The basic plot of the show follows the friendship between two 30-year-old bird-women living in the same apartment building and focuses on their relationships with with each other and their peers. Further details about the new season’s plot is expected to be revealed in the next few months.

Now coming to the cast, we would get to see Tiffany Huddish, Ali Wong and Steven Yeun coming back to provide their voices for Tuca Toucan, Roberta “Bertie” Songthrush and Speckle. We might get to see Nicole Byer, Richard E. Grant, John Early, Reggie Watts, Shamir, Jenifer Lewis and others in the recurring roles.

Tuca & Bertie Season 3 Release Date

Tuca & Bertie was renewed for a third season in August 2021 and it is expected to release sometime towards the end of 2022. However, an official confirmation is awaited on the same.

The new season is expected to have ten episodes like the first two seasons. Any other changes in the cast and crew might be disclosed in the upcoming few months.
