The show follows a queer black girl named Hattie and her two straight best friends, Marie and Nia, and they spend most of their days talking ‘ish’ and chasing their dreams. The lead roles are being played by Jonica T. Gibbs, Christina Elmore, Gabrielle Graham, Sophina Brown and Big Sean. The first season had eight episodes.

The show has received positive reviews from critics. Twenties has an approval rating of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes and a score of 73 out of 100 on Metacritic. The show has also been loved by the audience. Twenties was also later renewed for a second season in June 2020 and fans have been eagerly waiting for the premiere of Season 2.
