Two Jumanji Stars Are Coming Together For An Action-Comedy!

Two actresses from Jumanji recently signed a film together. Awkwafina and Karen Gillan have teamed up again! Sources say that they are coming together for an action-comedy, Shelly. This sounds like a lot of fun! The movie is said to be a cross between Mean Girls and Barry.

In this comedy by Jude Weng, Awkwafina is said to play the title character. The character Shelly is a hitwoman who was the main target of her former high school bully, Dianna Park(played by Karen Gillan). Dianna had traumatized Shelly in high school by playing a prank on her during prom night. Ten years later, Shelly is hired to kill her former high school bully. She is happy to carry out her assignment. But they both form an unpredicted friendship. Shelly now starts protecting Dianna from the hitmen who are after both of them.

This movie is written by Michael Doneger and Liz Storm. Shelly is produced by Transformers’ Ian Bryce. Jude Weng has also directed shows like The Good Place, iZombie, and several episodes of Young Sheldon, Life In Pieces according to Deadline.

Both these Jumanji stars are probably the perfect choice for a fun film like Shelly. They both have good comic timing and are trained in action sequences also! Karen Gillan trained with nunchucks for Jumanji: The Next Level and she has also kicked ass in a few Marvel films. Awkwafina is also training to enter the Phase Four of the MCU with Simu Liu.

It is going to be fun watching the actresses together onscreen again! The idea of Shelly itself sounds exciting and we cannot wait to watch the movie!
