Quick inception about Upload

Upload is a brand new sci-fi, quirky, watchable comedy web series from Amazon Prime Video released on this 1st of May that people can digitally upload themselves to a virtual afterlife. From the creator of The Office US Greg Daniels, the comedy , sci-fi show dwells into the virtual afterlife just like Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror. Upload looks like a small, funny show until you realize that without the jokes, the story would be unwatchably bleak.

This sci fi, comedy series follows the life of Nathan who meets early death. Further to his fatal death, he’s sent to the virtual world as a sort of afterlife. The primary two episodes are where you’ve got to remain put and plow through, but once you live through the nerd lingo, you get the minute satire that’s inbuilt in every scene. The genres of Upload include Television comedy, Science Fiction, Satire. The series was void of doubt, is an epic sci-fi series with a  lot of cliffhangers which has left many of the fans with plenty of questions. Fans want those questions to be answered in Upload Season 2.

Plot of Upload

When technologist Nathan dies prematurely, he’s uploaded to the very expensive Lake View. But soon finds himself under the control of his possessive, still-living girlfriend, Ingrid. As Nathan adjusts himself as per the merits and demerits of the technology-induced digital heaven, he slowly becomes closer to Nora. Nora is his living customer service rep, or “Angel”.  Will there be another series of Upload with Upload Season 2?

Upload season 2 has been confirmed by Amazon after the initial series of Upload launching on the platform. Amazon gave season two the green light a mere week after the primary outing premiered. In a statement from the firm, the top of Amazon Studios Jennifer Salke said:

“In Upload, Greg Daniels delivered a sensible, cinematic comedy crackling with intrigue and it’s clearly delighted our customers who have spent plenty of your time in Lakeview this past week. We know our global fans want to determine the subsequent chapter with Nathan and Nora so we are greenlighting season two and are excited that Greg’s passion project has found such a faithful audience.”

When will Upload season 2 be released?

Due to the COVID-19 situation and global lockdown, there are many questions over television and film production. Everything has become unpredictable. Therefore, it’s hard to predict when the new series are popping out, but it may be in 2021. Like all Amazon Originals, season two of Upload are dropped in one choose viewers to binge-watch. Season 1 consisted of 10 episodes and therefore the follow-up is probably going to be of an analogous length.

Who are within the cast of Upload season 2?

Upload Season 2 will see that most of the cast members remain same as in Season 1. This also implies Robbie Amell is back as deceased app developer Nathan Brown. Joining him are Andy Allo as customer service Angel Nora Anthony and Allegra Edwards as Nathan’s girlfriend Ingrid. Upload Season 2 could also introduce new cast members because the story expands out. The cast of the other members are as follows-

  • Kevin Bigley as Luke
  • Jordan Johnson-Hinds as Jamie,
  • Chris Williams as Nora’s father Dave,
  • Andrea Rosen as Nora’s boss Lucy,
  • Jessica Tuck as Nathan’s mother Viv,
  • William B Davis as David Choak who resides in Lake View
  • Chloe Coleman as Nathan’s niece Nevaeh,
  • Rhys Slack as Dylan, a boy living in Lake View.

While creator Daniels said:

“I am thrilled to continue a good relationship with Amazon Studios and this excellent cast and understand what happens next to Nora and Nathan and Ingrid and their 2033 world.”

What will happen in Upload season 2?

The first outing introduced viewers to a near-future world during which dead people could have their digital consciousness uploaded to a virtual afterlife. Through Nathan, who tragically died in an accident, audiences were immersed within the luxurious virtual afterlife referred to as Lakeview. Nathan was learning to regulate his new existence and pushing the boundaries of technology within this world. Upload Season 2 is probably going to still see how he navigates and contends with Lakeview and face new challenges. To discuss the creation of Upload, Daniels revealed it absolutely was a plan he came up with while wandering around with Manhattan.

He later pitched the thought as a book in 2008 before spending the last six years functioning on Upload as a show. He expressed that the show has satire about income inequality and environmental degradation, loss of privacy and our powerlessness before big tech companies, but it’s essentially a personality comedy about science and love attempting to beat death. The show did a large amount of research about what inventions and problems are coming down the pike, and aspects of the show that they are ‘out-there’ keep coming true.
Daniels said:

“One day I expect we actually are able to upload into a virtual existence, then we will enjoy banner ads and pop-ups forever and ever.”
