Developed by Sue Tenney, Virgin River is an American romantic drama streaming television series. It is based on the Virgin River novels by Robyn Carr. The executive producers of the show are Robyn Carr, Christopher E. Perry, Sue Tenney, Roma Roth, and Jocelyn Freid.

The first season premiered on Netflix on December 6, 2019. In September 2021, the series was renewed for the fourth and fifth seasons. The fourth season is scheduled to be released on July 20, 2022.

Virgin River Season 5 Release Date

The makers have renewed Virgin River for the fifth season on September 20, 2021, but the release date is yet to be confirmed. the makers have also confirmed that the new season will have 12 episodes as Season 4.

Considering that, the fifth season should premiere sometime in late 2023, or early 2024, although an official confirmation is still awaited. The series is produced by Reel World Management.

The makers of Virgin River have not revealed a lot of details about the plot of Season 5. It is expected to continue from Season 4 will end and for now, it is hard to predict what might happen in Season 5 since Season 4 is premiering next month. Everything will be dependent on the ending of Season 4.

The basic premise follows Melinda “Mel” Monroe, who answers an ad to work as a midwife and nurse practitioner in the remote Northern California town of Virgin River, thinking it will be the perfect place to start fresh and leave her painful memories behind. But she soon discovers that small-town living isn’t quite as simple as she expected. She must learn to heal herself before she can truly make the Virgin River her home
