We Own This City: Release Date, Trailer and more!

HBO is bringing a new miniseries titled We Own This City. It is created and written by David Simon and George Pelecanos, and Reinaldo Marcus Green is helming all the episodes as the director.

David, George, and Reinaldo are also the executive producers alongside Nina Kostroff Noble, Ed Burns and Kary Antholis. Since it is a miniseries, a second season has not been ordered yet and everything is dependent on the response it would receive after its release.

We Own This City Plot and Cast

We On This City is based on a nonfiction book of the same name written by Baltimore Sun reporter Justin Fenton. The plot of the show will exactly follow the book.

The miniseries would deal with the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Trace Task Force and the corruption surrounding it. It would examine the corruption and moral collapse that falls in an American city where the policies of drug prohibition and mass arrest were prioritized at the cost of actual police work.

Coming to the cast, we would get to see Jon Bernthal, Wunmi Mosaku, Jamie Hector, McKinley Belcher III, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Josh Charles, Dagmara Dominczyk and others in the lead roles.

We would also get to see Treat Williams, Gabrielle Carteris, Tray Chaney, Domenick Lombardozzi, Thaddeus Street, Jermaine Crawford, Nathan E. Corbett and Chris Clanton in recurring and supporting roles.

We Own This City Release Date

We Own This City is scheduled to release on HBO on April 25, 2022. The miniseries would consist of six episodes and the runtime for each episode is yet to be revealed.

Production for the show started in July 2021 with filming mostly being done in Baltimore. However, the production was halted for a week in September 2021 after a spike in Covid-19 cases.
