Created by A.C. Bradley, What If…? Is an American animated anthology series. The show is based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name. It is the fourth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios and the studio’s first animated series.

The first season of What If…? premiered on August 11, 2021, and ran for nine episodes until October 6. It is part of Phase Four of the MCU. A second nine-episode season is expected to premiere in 2022.

What If…? Plot and Cast

Following the creation of the multiverse in the season one finale of Loki, What If…? explores various alternate timelines of the multiverse in which major moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films occur differently, as observed by the Watcher.

In the second season, following the formation of the Guardians of the Multiverse, the Watcher continues to explore more strange worlds, meeting new heroes and keeping the multiverse safe.

The expected cast of What If…? Season 2 are as follows Jeffrey Wright as The Watcher, Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Josh Keaton as Captain America and Mick Wingert as Tony Stark.

We might get to see Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor as Ebony Maw, Hayley Atwell as Captain Carter, John Kani as King T’Chaka, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Karen Gillan as Nebula and Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer.

What If…? Season 2 Release Date

A second season of What If…? was confirmed as the first was coming out, and it’s expected to premiere on Disney Plus in 2022. Those who want to watch the show can purchase a subscription to Disney+.
