What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage (or, What Just Happened??!) is a parody television series on Fox. The show is presented by Fred Savage and Taylor Tomlinson. What Just Happened??! is created by Dave Jeser, Matt Silverstein and Fred Savage. The series premiered on Fox on June 30, 2019. The first season of What Just Happened??! had 9 episodes, ending on September 1, 2019. What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage is produced by 20th Century Fox Television, Double Hemm and The Crest Lamp Company.

The official website of What Just Happened??! describes the premise of the show as this-

“This half-hour hybrid comedy/talk show hosted by Fred Savage is dedicated to exploring the fandom surrounding fictional sci-fi thriller “The Flare.” The TV show is based on fictional author TJ Whitford’s sci-fi book series “The Moon Is the Sun at Night,” which has been a favorite of Savage’s since childhood. The aftershow features multiple segments, including authentic sit-down celebrity interviews, set visits to THE FLARE and interviews with the “cast”, as well as discussions with fans and more.”

What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage – Is there going to be a Season 2?

The first season of What Just Happened??! had very low ratings, averaging a 0.21 rating in the 18-49 category, and 623,000 viewers on average, across its nine-episode run. Since the series was a summer show, it still managed to complete its run, and not get canceled midway. The show was another one in line among a long list of reality television series that Fox launched in the 2019-20 season. Although it didn’t register much viewership, the executives at Fox have described the show as a win on many levels, saying that it was a win for the talent that they aim to have on their network.

Fox’s Entertainment President, Michael Thorne has said this about the second season of What Just Happened??!-

“Obviously the ratings were not as high as we’d hoped, so I think a second season is challenging.”

What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage has not been ‘officially’ cancelled by Fox, but it seems highly unlikely that it will be back for a second season.
