Created by Jemaine Clement, What We Do in the Shadows is an American mockumentary comedy horror television series. The second television series in the franchise is based on the 2014 film of the same name written by Clement and Taika Waititi, The executive producers of the show are Jemaine Clement, Taika Waititi, Paul Simms, Scott Rudin, Garrett Basch, Eli Bush, and Stefani Robinson.

The first season of the show premiered on March 27, 2019, on FX. The series’ second season premiered on April 15, 2020. Followed by, In June 2022, the series was renewed for a fifth and sixth season, ahead of the fourth season premiere.

What We Do in the Shadows Season 5 Release Date

Season four has recently been released. It’s impossible to predict the correct schedule for season five. To know that we have to wait and see what happens next.

Season 5 might consist of ten episodes like the previous seasons, although, an official announcement is still awaited. Further details are expected to be revealed soon.

What We Do in the Shadows Season 5 Plot and Cast

The basic premise followed by the series overall the last three seasons is, “What We Do in the Shadows recounts the lives of three traditional vampires, Nandor, Laszlo, and Nadja; Colin Robinson, an energy vampire; and Guillermo, Nandor’s familiar, in Staten Island, New York City, New York. The vampires interact with the modern world and other supernatural beings in this series.”

What We Do in the Shadows Season 4 is premiering next month on July 2, 2022. So, it is very early to guess the plot for seasons 5 and 6, which is expected to pick up the pilot episode from the finale of Season 4 just like the prior seasons of the series have done to connect the plots and avoid any major loopholes in the story as the premise evolves each chapter.

Hence, the fifth and sixth seasons are also expected to revolve around the story and expand the characters on these plotlines and expand the universe with major changes to experiment with the story that keeps the viewers intrigued to the series so that they tune in to see more seasons.

The original cast members are expected to reprise their roles and continue the story in the next chapter. Moreover, the network has yet to make any new casting announcements as of June 13, 2022. The list of the prominent characters of the series includes Kayvan Novak as Nandor the Relentless, Matt Berry as Leslie “Laszlo” Cravensworth, Natassia Demetriou as Nadja of Antipaxos, Harvey Guillén as Guillermo de la Cruz, Mark Proksch as Colin Robinson and more.
