Imagine a person is living a happy and fulfilling life and with the blink of an eye that person is transported is to some other world. Many movies have been based on time travel. But this time, Antebellum is not just about time travel. It asks a basic question can you risk your present life to change the past?
Antebellum is about risking that you have today to save something in the past. For many people, this is a very difficult question. Some will say Why risk today if past is already over? But what if it can change the fate of a community? But what if the person is chosen by fate?
Antebellum is written and directed by Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz. The film is produced by Raymond Mansfield and Sean McKittrick. The film revolves around modern-day author Veronica Henley ( played by Janelle Monáe ) who is somehow transported to days of American Civil wars. She comes face to face with her ancestors working as slaves in the Southern States of America. Veronica is sent for a purpose to alter the consequences of her actions in the future. Will she be successful or will she be trapped in the timelines? Fans will have to wait for a release to know the truth.
