On Jan 14, 2020, You Season 3 was confirmed, and if everything goes right apart from the COVID-19, we will definitely see the season on 9th April 2021.
That means, we have around 10 to 11 months left to watch this ten episodes season.
What’s the Series about?
Inspired by the book series from American author Caroline Kepnes and based on the obsessive mind of a lovesick psychopath, Joe Goldberg, You, is a weirdly captivating series. Joe’s intensity leads to issues such as developing unhealthy fixations with his love interests, leading him to do increasingly over-the-top things to get their attention. Throughout the first two seasons, we have seen him do all sorts of crime -even murder- in his attempt to capture the hearts of his loved ones. Though the concept is highly problematic, regardless of that fact, You got fans all over.
Cast
There’s confirmation of two returning cast members: Badley will return as Joe and Victoria Pedretti will return as Love. Given how season 2 ended with the couple in a quite unholy union, the continued presence of Love in Joe’s was pretty obvious and confirmed.
What to expect?
Season 3 plans to interrogate, not just Love more thoroughly. Sera Gamble, the showrunner, is planning an even more gloomy future for Joe as well.
Gamble talked about how the end of Season 2 doesn’t indicate good things for our protagonist in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Also, how Joe handles fatherhood will definitely be an interesting element of Season 3, the last two seasons have shown how protective he is of the children in his life.
Joe and Love are “not soulmates”, said Badgley to TVLine. In the end, Joe is afraid of Love. It’s set up for Season 3 in a way where they would each other’s arm nemesis.
You could run for more seasons on Netflix because it’s expected that Joe’s story won’t just end completely in Season 3. There’s more to it. “I am not scared at all of saying that we definitely could follow Joe for several more seasons,” said Gamble to THR. She continued, “Because we believe in the world that Caroline gave us and we believe in these characters, we just know they will keep finding fucked up shit to get into.”
