Will ‘911’ return any time soon?

Whenever we hear 911, the first thing that comes to our mind is cops. But with everything that’s happening in the world right now, the last thing on the list is them. But maybe, we might need to dial this 9-1-1 in order to call these special cops. The show just got over with the third season on May 11, 2020, released during such a crucial life. When everyone is debating over the portrayal of cops and the people with 911 helpline on the TV shows and movies and they gave the audience, rather citizens, a false, unrealistic image, the show still ended with a bang, and the fans are yet waiting for the next one eagerly. Even though Fox already gave a heads-up, but we got to still wait for the official release.

The American procedural television series created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear for the Fox Broadcasting Company tells the story of the lives of Los Angeles first responders; police officers, paramedics, firefighters, and dispatchers. It dates back to January 3, 2018. The show is the result of a joint production between Reamworks, Ryan Murphy Television, and 20th Century Fox Television and syndicated by 20th Television.

The show gives a perspective of the other side of the story, who regularly risk their own lives and follow the notion “serve and protect”. How one needs to take immediate decisions in the time of emergencies and life-threatening situations. It is very easy to judge, but once we know their side of the story, we might not treat them the same. The horror stories on the other side of the phone. 9-1-1 got a rate of 7.7 on IMDb and 81% on Rotten Tomatoes.

“As a retired 911 dispatcher I could relate to what the characters were feeling when they heard a shot over the phone or were disconnected after emergency personnel arrived on the scene. 911 dispatchers are first responders and deserve to be portrayed as such. Without the dedicated men and women who take and dispatch police, fire, and paramedics to emergency situations no one would get the help they need. Dispatchers save seconds and seconds save lives. I know it’s only a television show but if you are striving for realism, you are missing a key part of the equation.”

The show has got some lucky charm to feature Emmy Award winners. Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Rockmond Dunbar are some of the great artists present in the show.

The show also got a spin-off 9-1-1: Lone Star,  which premiered on January 19, 2020.
