With the last season of Arrow gone the hopes of the viewers have pivoted on other promising shows like Supergirl and the Flash. At this point, not many things could match temptation created by the release of the new season of Supergirl. Earlier when the CW had officially confirmed the new season of The flash and supergirl, the release date of the latter was not announced given to many uncertainties but later the date was confirmed to be on 17 May by CW.

Although many had watched it on CW after 17 there is a large group of folks who have waited for its release on Netflix. Netflix was already streaming the first for seasons of Supergirl and thanks to Netflix- CW deal according to which CW shows can be streamed on Netflix eight days after its season finale is over. So as the CW had launched its season 5 on 17 may, therefore, it started streaming on Netflix from May 25. The season originally was planned to have 22 to 23 episodes but as with many others, it also suffered due to the coronavirus pandemic and was cut short. This season revolves around the broken friendship between Kara and Lena Luthor. The latter left no stone unturned to get back at Kara as she is raged with betrayal. In doing which she is even working with her diabolic resurrected brother Lex, who manipulates her at every chance he gets. Along with that, the season has a great impact of the crisis on the infinite earth and its aftermath.

When can Season 6 of Supergirl be Expected?
All of these have raised the expectations from its season 6 but as lead actress Melissa Benoist and her husband have announced her pregnancy in March 2020. Therefore, the dates of season 6 have been shifted to after mid-2021 for now.
