World War Z 2: Is The Brad Pitt’s Zombie Movie Cancelled?

World War Z was a massive hit. Fans went crazy for it just like the zombies. But, the air of the rumors of the movie “might not happen” is spreading to fast.

It was on June 3, 2013, seven years ago when the movie hit the theaters in London. World War Z was then chosen for the 35th Moscow International Film Festival. Not only chosen to be there, but it was also selected for opening the massive event.

Talking about all the other countries, it did an amazing job there as well. The zombie movie World War Z premiered in New York, Los Angeles, on the 14th of June, 2013. And in the United States and elsewhere in the world it released on the 21st of June, 2013.

So, basically the destructive zombie movie World War Z was this famous, a major hit, and fans absolutely loved it. So, why are the makers silent on the sequel? Why haven’t we got to watch part two yet?

World War Z: Has the Movie been Canceled?

The sequel of World War Z was planned to appear to release four years after the first installment of the movie, in 2017. However, when 2017 came, the movie wasn’t seen to be happening, but it was postponed. It went without production and this happened when it had not even begun filming.

Thereafter, the filming was said to be happening in autumn 2018. However, it seemed that we were not that lucky enough to receive the film to watch. World War Z 2 was again pushed back. But this time the reason was different. In 2018, Brad Pitt singed for Once Upon a Time In Hollywood. 

Then why didn’t it happened in 2019? well, the next delay was followed as director David Fincher was not available for the work. He had to work on Mindhunter season two. That directed us to the filming happening in June 2019.

But that obviously didn’t happen. So, then it was pushed forward to March 2019. However, bad news overlapped. And again the movie was delayed. This time Paramount ceased the pre-production of the sequel. And this was because of China.

China, being the biggest movie market, has a ban on Zombie movies. And makers didn’t want to risk their efforts by making a sequel. It had many reasons but the sole one was that everything was eventually going into vain.

As of now, the movie is almost dead. And we couldn’t know if it’ll wake up soon.
