Xiaomi-backed Black Shark is a smartphone brand that focusses on gaming smartphones. Since initiation, the company launched its first gaming phone dubbed as Black Shark back in April. Later, it came up with another device called Black Shark Helo. Now, as per the recent announcement, it seems that company is arriving in India while maintaining its presence in China and European markets.
The announcement through a press release sent by the company, announcing its arrival in the country. As of now, the regime is setting up its operations and hence will publish an “official launch” date later.
Notably, the company’s headquarters will be located in Bengaluru. It will be headed by David Li, VP of Black Shark Global. David will also manage the overall operations in India. Furthermore, Chirag Nagendra will join as the Marketing Head of Black Shark India. He has previously worked with OnePlus as the Head of Communications and will be responsible for brand building and communications strategy.
Note that the Black Shark and the Shark Hello don’t have any major differences as far as hardware is concerned. That being said, it’ll be interesting to see which device makes it to India. The main highlights of the former include Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, a 5.99-inch screen, a liquid cooling system, and a 4000mAh battery. Whereas, the latter gets a slightly larger 6.01-inch display, up to 10GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Apart from gaming smartphones, we can expect the company to launch certain accessories including the Gamepad 2.0 controller.
Lately, Xiaomi Product Director Wang Teng Thomas has confirmed the existence of Black Shark 2 smartphone on Weibo. It’ll be safe to assume Snapdragon 855 SoC and 8GB of RAM on the device. Well, what if the company enters India with the Black Shark 2 itself? It sounds astounding but we still don’t have any confirmation on which device will the company bring to India. Stay tuned.
