Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro Launched in India: Price, Specifications

After tons of leaks and rumours, Xiaomi has finally released the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 7 smartphones in India. Both the handsets bring an amazing value for money proportion rerouting the company to take on the likes of Asus, Honor and Realme. While the Note 7 Pro goes on par with the leaks, the Indian Redmi Note 7 is slightly different than the Chinese model. That being said, let’s have a detailed look at the specifications and features of both the smartphones.

The Redmi Note 7 structures a 6.3-inch full-HD+ display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and the glass finish at the back. Featuring a Dot Notch display (waterdrop notch), the handset gets Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection.

Furthermore, the Redmi Note 7  is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC. There’s 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of onboard storage. The phone also incorporates a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

 

Discussing the optics, there is a dual camera arrangement at the back but contrasting the 48-megapixel Samsung sensor and 5-megapixel depth sensor which was included on the Chinese variant, has been substituted. In its place, the Indian variant gets a 12-megapixel primary sensor with along with 2-megapixel depth sensor. At the front, there is a 13-megapixel sensor for selfies, the same as the Chinese Note 7. The camera app company’s own AI to enhance the camera concert and comprises features like portrait mode and AI scene recognition and the list goes on.

The device is backed by a 4,000mAh battery just like its ancestors along with Quick Charge 4.0 support this time. The fingerprint sensor accommodates at the back like most of the devices in Redmi line-up. Finally, Xiaomi has gone with USB Type-C port for charging and file transfers. The device is grounded on Android Pie 9.0 with MIUI 10 skin on top. Redmi Note 7 is made available in three colours — Onyx Black, Ruby Red, and Sapphire Blue

Redmi Note 7 Pro: Specifications, Features

The Redmi Note 7 Pro gets almost the same design containing the glass back with Aura Design as well as a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a dot-notch. The device has a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5 fortification at the front and the back.

Moving further, the Note 7 Pro is driven by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor which was launched in recent times. Redmi Note 7 Pro is the second device to be powered by 675 after the Vivo V15 Pro. Users can choose between 4GB RAM and 64GB on boot storage or 6GB RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage options. Just like the Note 7, this device has support for a microSD card slot of up to 256GB.

 

At the back, there is a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 main sensor with f/1.79 aperture and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. Xiaomi uses their artificial intelligence (AI) based features to process the images which include features like AI scene detection, AI Portrait 2.0, and Night mode, etc. At the front, the same 13-megapixel camera takes its attendance from Redmi Note 7.

Just like the Note 7, this device is grounded on Android Pie 9.0 with MIUI 10 skin on top and is backed by a 4000mAh battery and comes in three colours — Neptune Blue, Nebula Red, and Space Black.

Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro: Price and Availablity

Xiaomi has valued the Redmi Note 7 Pro starting Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB + 64GB variants, while the 6GB + 128GB version will be obtainable at Rs. 16,999. The company states that the Redmi Note 7 Pro will be available starting March 13. The Redmi Note 7 Pro is accessible for buyers via Mi.com, Flipkart, and Mi Home stores, and offline stores too.

On the other hand, the Redmi Note 7 will go on sale starting March 6 via Mi.com, Flipkart, and Mi Home stores. Xiaomi has priced the Redmi Note 7 at Rs. 9,999 for the 3GB/32GB variant. Whereas the 4GB/64GB variant will carry a price tag of Rs. 11,999.
