All the smartphone makers are progressively rolling out the Android 9 Pie update to their devices. Android 9 yokes the power of artificial intelligence to deliver much out of your current smartphone. That said, Xiaomi devices are finally getting Android Pie update. The company has now revealed the list of Xiaomi smartphones getting Android 9 Pie update.

The update comes from Xiaomi engineer Zhang Guoquan’s Weibo account. He confirmed that the Redmi Note 5/ 5 Pro and Redmi Y2 will get updates to Android Pie in Q1 of this year. This means the two phones will get their first glace of Android 9 in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the company is testing Android 9 Pie on the Redmi 6 Pro and the Redmi 6X. Xiaomi is also developing the system-wide Dark mode. That is something which we’ve seen on Samsung’s One UI and Oxygen OS. Impending updates to MIUI will also carry new sound effects, Progressive Dolby effects, Screen wake-up using voice, screen activation through voice and the capability to view the lock screen after unlocking the device through Face Unlock deprived of hurdling to the home screen.
Moreover, users will also get an option to delete APK files after installing them automatically. A dedicated child mode is also stated. And the ability to view emergency contacts on the lock screen.
The recently launched Redmi Note 7 and Pro variants were hurled with a dedicated Night mode for better shots in the low light conditions. The new mode is already present in these devices uses pixel binning to bin four pixels into one large pixel for better details when the light is low.
