Y: The Last Man is an upcoming drama television series on FX on Hulu. The television series is based on the comic-book series of the same name, by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra. Eliza Clark will serve as showrunner on Y: The Last Man. She joined the project after Michael Green and Aida Mashaka Croal departed in April 2019. Clark will also serve as an executive producer on the series, alongside Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Brian K. Vaughan, Melina Matsoukas, and Mari Jo Winkler-Ioffreda.

“Y: The Last Man takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in which a cataclysmic event has killed every male mammal save for one lone human and his capuchin monkey. The new world order of women will explore gender, race, class and survival.”

Y: The Last Man stars Ben Schnetzer as Yorick Brown, Diane Lane as Senator Jennifer Brown, Imogen Poots as Hero Brown, Lashana Lynch as Agent 355, Juliana Canfield as Beth, Marin Ireland as Nora, Amber Tamblyn as Mariette Callows, Timothy Hutton as the U.S. President, and Elliot Fletcher as Sam Jordan.
Y: The Last Man Season 1 – Premiere Date and Recent Updates
The pilot of Y: The Last Man had started filming in 2018. However, both the showrunners Michael Green and Aida Mashaka Croal departed in April 2019, which was followed by the departure of the lead star Barry Keoghan as well, in February 2020. Filming was then scheduled to begin in April 2020. However, it was again postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
After lengthy delays due to changes in cast and crew and the pandemic, filming of Y: The Last Man is now scheduled to begin on October 26, 2020. The filming is expected to last until July 5, 2021. Y: The Last Man will premiere on streaming platform Hulu and can be expected to release some time in the second-half of 2021.
