Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, Yellowjackets is a television drama series that revolves around four teenagers involved in a plane crash in 1996. Lyle and Nickerson are also the executive producers alongside Jonathan Lisco, Drew Comins, and Karyn Kusama.

The series premiered on Showtime on November 14, 2021, and received positive reviews from critics, with particular praise for the story and cast performances. It currently holds a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has been renewed for a second season, scheduled to premiere soon.

Many mysteries are left to be solved in the upcoming season. The main conflict will mostly involve Lottie’s rise as a cult leader in the past along with her resurgence in the present.

At the end of Season 1, Lottie had Nat kidnapped and it would be up to Shauna, Tai, and Misty to save their friend. The only problem is that Shauna had to navigate the repercussions of murdering Adam, especially not that her daughter Callie knows.

Tai is now possessed by some kind of supernatural force that makes her behead dogs and Misty just poisoned Jessica. Things would now get messier for New Jersey’s high school soccer champions.

Coming to the cast, we should get to see Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Ella Purnell, Juliette Lewis, Sophie Thatcher, Christina Ricci, Sammi Hanratty, Steven Krueger, and Warren Kole in the lead roles.

Yellowjackets Season 2 Release Date

Yellowjackets were renewed for a second season in December 2021. So for now, we cannot expect the new season to release in 2022. However, the makers might release it sometime in 2023.

The upcoming season is expected to have ten episodes like Season 1 with the same runtime. However, further details are yet to be confirmed by the makers.
