Based on the book Non ho mai avuto la mia età by Antonio Dikele Distefano, created by Menotti together with Stefano Voltaggio, “Zero” is an Italian drama-comedy sci-fi series that follows a shy teen with the power to turn invisible who must get it under control to help defend his neighborhood, putting aside the pursuit of his artistic dream and premiered on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, on Netflix.
Starring Giuseppe Dave Seke, Haroun Fall, and Beatrice Grannò, “ZERO” tells the story of a shy boy with an extraordinary superpower: becoming invisible. Not a superhero, but a modern hero who learns about his powers when the Barrio, the district of the Milan suburb from which he wanted to escape, is in danger. Zero will have to wear the uncomfortable clothes of a hero, despite himself and, in his adventure, he will discover the friendship of Sharif, Inno, Momo, and Sara, and perhaps even love.
A young cartoonist named Omar moves from Rome to Milan and attempts to acclimate in his new neighborhood full of second-generation Italian immigrants. He forms a romantic relationship with a privileged woman named Anna, who is revealed to be the daughter of a businessman who hires criminals to damage property in “the barrio.” Season 1 includes a mysterious figure known as The Virgin, who has unknown plans for Omar and his sister Awa.
