Spy Games

Spy Games is a 2020 American reality competition television series that premiered on January 20, 2020, on Bravo. Hosted by Mia Kang, ten contestants compete for $100,000. The competition took inspiration from the World War II government program, Station S—in which civilians were assessed and trained to be spies.

Spy Games:

Inspired by the once-secret World War II government program known as “Station S,” in which civilians were assessed and trained to be spies, ten daring individuals come together to compete and attempt to outplay one another in living out the ultimate spy fantasy. Model and martial artist Mia Kang host the competition, with real-life intelligence experts assessing the contestants’ performances to determine who has what it takes to outwit the game and succeed at one of the world’s most mysterious professions.

At a time when questions of surveillance and intelligence are at an all-time high, the series follows ten competitors living together, as they are each tasked with gathering intel on their fellow players. They are pushed to their breaking points when they must survive a series of challenges designed by three “Assessors:” Douglas Laux, former undercover CIA Officer; Evy Poumpouras, former Special Agent for the United States Secret Service; and Erroll Southers, former FBI Special Agent. Together, they observe contestants around the clock, train them in spycraft, and judge their progress – those who master the skills quickly and demonstrate the emotional control and instincts it takes to be a spy will make it further in the game. As these bold competitors are eliminated with each passing mission, they quickly realize this game may be more mentally and physically challenging than they ever imagined. Tensions run high, but they must keep their eyes on the prize, as only one will take home $100,000 and walk away having mastered the art of the Spy.

Spy Games: Judges

Douglas Laux: A former operations officer in the Central Intelligence Agency with nearly a decade of experience. In that capacity, Laux deployed several times to Afghanistan where he helped track and eliminate key terror targets; he was in the country during and after the death of Osama bin Laden. He also built numerous contacts within the country, becoming familiar with the different languages and cultures of Afghanistan. Near the end of his CIA career, Laux was sent to Syria to meet with members of the anti-Assad resistance of the country. In 2016, he published a memoir detailing his time in the CIA.

Evy Poumpouras: A former officer in the New York Police Department turned the United States Secret Service agent. Poumpouras served on protective details for former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama. She investigated both financial and violent crimes and worked in the Secret Service’s elite polygraph unit. She underwent training from the Department of Defense in lie detection, human behavior and cognitive influence. She also protected former Presidents Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush. She completed undergraduate studies at Hofstra University and holds graduate degrees from Argosy University, and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She is currently a journalist who has worked for CNN, MSNBC, ABC, and NBC.

He then served for four years in the FBI, working in counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and served in SWAT. After leaving the FBI, he was appointed by former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger to serve as the deputy director for critical infrastructure protection in the California Office of Homeland Security. In 2007, he was appointed chief of intelligence and counterterrorism for the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Police Department, the nation’s largest law enforcement agency dedicated solely to aviation. He holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. from the University of Southern California. He currently serves as a professor at the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy, specializing in national security and how to combat extremism.

Spy Games Season 2: Release Date

The reality TV show competed its first season in March 2020 with eight episodes. As there is no official announcement on the release of its second season, it’s hard to say when will its next part drop. But producers hinted that they would come back with a fresh installment.

The executive producer, Eric Detwiler, said in his interview that the team plans to make some changes to the format of the rules of the game so that viewers get fresh content instead of the previous one.

If its previous release is taken into account, we expect the Spy Games second season to fall in January 2021. But as the already ongoing pandemic changed many series release dates and scrapped the plan, we suspect its return soon. Till now the no news of its production was revealed, so we are suspected of getting another series in early 2021. It is expected that Spy Games will drop on later dates of next year.

Spy Games Season 2: Cast

Mia King might return as a show’s host once again. Along with her, all the judges will be back, including Douglas Laux, Erroll Southers, Evy Poumpouras. So far, no names of castes have been revealed who will join the Spy Games.
